Dana Llamas, PA-C DIPLOMATE, AMERICAN BOARD OF DERMATOLOGY

Dr. Kevin Patel, MD, FAAD, completed his medical training at Chicago Medical School, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and graduated first in his class. With a focus on epidemiology research to improve the cost of care for skin diseases, he is a reviewer for various peer-reviewed journals and authored over 40 publications in the field of dermatology. Growing up in Chicago, Dr. Patel initially aspired to become a veterinarian. However, his perspective shifted in college when he volunteered at a free health clinic and discovered his passion for medicine. His interest in dermatology stems from his concern for the psychosocial and financial burdens of skin diseases. He recognizes that dermatologic issues can significantly affect a person’s well-being and strives to help his patients live comfortably in their own skin. Dr. Patel completed a fellowship in Mohs skin cancer surgery under Dr. Hubert Greenway, who was trained by Dr. Frederic Mohs, the pioneer of the Mohs surgical technique. Additionally, he trained with Dr. Vic Ross, who developed many of the laser-based treatments now widely used in medical care. In his free time, Dr. Patel enjoys trying new restaurants, scuba diving, hiking, traveling, immersing himself in new cultures and cuisines, and spending time with family and friends.
